After twelve hours of bombing which destroyed the 14th Century Cathederal and much of the centre of the city, George Rodger documented the aftermath of the Coventry Blitz of November 14/15th 1940.
IRodger's photographs of the Union flag seen through the smoke of the smouldering rubble, and the people of Coventry making their way through the ruins, were censored in Britain and were published in the United States in Life magazine.
