PHILIP JONES GRIFFITHS      Sunday Times 13/2/72 - Vietnam - The People In The Middle

iPhillip Jones Griffiths (1936-2008) went to Vietnam in 1966. He was now accredited to Magnum and in his five years there his camera focused on the plight of the Vietnamese people. The horror of the human suffering is contrasted with US military hardware and technology brought to bear on this country. The Sunday Times magazines features 12 of his images which were to be published in 'Vietnam Inc.' in 1971. The cover of the magazine features one of his most striking images capturing the horror and human misery, in the words of Henri Cartier Bresson; "Not since Goya has any one portrayed war like Philip Jones Griffiths"
