ROBERT CAPA LIFE 18/10/43 Naples / Chiunzi Pass
Nine pages of images of the aftermath of the
liberation of Naples which Capa entered with
'A' squadron of the King's Dragoon Guards and
men
of the 505th PIR 82nd Airborne on
October 1st 1943. The first three pages include
the work of George Rodger, who Capa met for
the first time in Naples.
The remaining 18 photographs, all Capa's,
illustrate the heavy fighting along the
Chiunzi Pass in the push towards Naples. It
includes a field hospital established in a church.
