Admiral Sir Max Horton Liverpool Life 2nd August 1943

An original copy of Life magazine featuring Admiral Sir Max Kennedy Horton on the cover. He was Commander-in-Chief of Western Approaches from 1942 to 1945. He is photographed in the map room Western Approaches head quarters at Derby House, Liverpool, this is where the progress of the Battle of the Atlantic was plotted throughout the war.

Also featured is a photograph of Captain Robert K. Morgan, pilot of the 'Memphis Belle' B-17 Flying Fortess, on his return to the United States.
