4th Fighter Group 8th Airforce Debden Life Magazine 1st November 1943

An original copy of Life magazine in which Frank Scherschel documents the men of the 334 Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group at Debden in Essex. The cover features Captain James A Clark (22) standing in front of his P47D Thunderbolt (42-75252). Clark had volunteered and served in 71 (Eagle) Squadron, RAF. When the United States entered the war 71 Squadron became the 334 Fighter Squadron of the 8th Airforce.
