Edgar "Cobber" Kain 73 Squadron R.A.F. France 1940

A very rare and original copy of Modern World 27th April 1940. The cover features a photograph of the R.A.F.'s first Ace, Edgar "Cobber" Kain D.F.C.

Born in  Hastings, New Zealand in 1918, he joined the R.A.F. in 1936. Kain served with 73 Squadron that was equipped with Hurricanes. He was killed on the 7th June 1940 while performing aerobatics over his airfield at Échemines in France, he had 17 confirmed "kills".

 

The magazine is complete and original and in very good condition.
