Johnshaven Jack Esten Illustrated 23rd May 1942

Jack Esten (1904-1985), staff photographer of Illustrated magazine, documents the Coastguard volunteers of Johnshaven practicing their rescue drills. The photo-essay includes a photograph of John Malcolm, a Coastguard who had just received a Bronze medal for bravery for saving lives on the Kincardineshire coast. Also featured are the McBay brothers Murray, Dick and son Cecil, making lobster pots.
 
The magazine is complete and original and in very good condition.
