LEONARD McCOMBE Road to Victory Picture Post September 9th 1944 -

Leonard McCombe is better known for his postwar career as a Life magazine staff photographer.  His exceptional wartime career at Picture Post has been less well documented.

In this photo essay McCombe follows the fighting in Normandy as British and Canadian forces, after the capture of Caen, push to close the Falaise gap and thereby deny the Wehrmacht an escape route into Western France.

The magazine is complete and original and in good condition.

There is a archival repair to the inside of the spine and new staples.
