Robert Capa Allies Squeeze the German Bulge Life 15th January 1945

Robert Capa joined the tanks of 37th Battalion, 4th Armoured Division in their push to relieve the beleaguered 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge. This had already been a 'dangerous' assignment for Capa as he was mistaken for a German by a GI, and Capa resolved the problem at gun point.
Capa joined Lt. Col. Abrams of the 37th for the final push to Bastogne.  They reached a hillside that overlooked Bastogne which Capa said was, "Only three thousand yards and two thousand Germans away!"  Abrams lined his tanks up and told his men,"To keep going on and keep on shooting without stopping to aim, until they reached the town below."
