Robert Capa China Weekly illustrated 11th June 1938
A very rare copy of Weekly Illustrated from 11th June 1938.
The cover and accompanying photo essay contain 22 of Capa's images taken during March and April 1938 when he accompanied film makers Joris Ivens and John Fernhout to China.
Capa visited the Xuzhou Front, where the Chinese inflicted the first major defeat on the Japanese. He documented the aftermath of the battle. Capa's image of a locomotive packed with refugees and soldiers. The railways were of great strategic importance to the Chinese war effort .
The 82 year old magazine is in very good overall condition. The magazine appears to have been removed from binder with some slight wear to the spine.
