Robert Capa What It Feels Like To Invade Picture Post 24th June 1944

Original Picture Post Magazine, containing the article "What it feels like to invade ". Capa landed on Fox Green, Omaha Beach with the men of the 16th Infantry Regiment of the US Army 1st Division. After the infamous drying-cabinet incident, only 11 0f the 108 original frames were salvagable.

The soldler in the surf, photographed by Capa, has recently (Times 29/9/07) been positively identified as PFC Huston Riley of F Company, 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Hugh Riley, now 86, whilst wounded recalled how Capa pulled him ashore.
